You hit all the right notes

Steak came out well done, which is fairly standard here. It was surprisingly tender and well seasoned. It "Thai" style, it could have been a shade spicer for my tastes

Probably wise if you'd seen some of the old cider heads from the past. One local of mine from years ago has a snug bar on the side full of them and a bar billiards table - named the Muppet bar and for good reason. You'd think they were talking a foreign language.

Somewhere in the West Country, England (it may just be an old bridge with a train line). I just Googled it, but Mendip might be able to help because that's his manor.

Cider and Cornish pasties are ten a penny in that area. I suspect you'd like it.
