Cap'n Coronach. Jeff's favourite
Crunchatise me khrap'n
I thought my crumpet looked grim this morning
^ gotta admit I was underwhelmed. It looked better in the bakery window.
Topper that's the local staple known as Pandasel, which translates into English as inedible sweet Filipino attempt at a bread roll, but they're cheap.
As I'm sure you've figured out by now, anything from bakeries there are a diabeties Doctors cash cow including things that shouldn't be sweet like burger buns.
Edit to add: Thanks for the pic too, made me crave something sweet so an English muffin with honey just hit the spot

^ And thanks to you HW... after yet another unfulfilling breakfast you have just reminded me that my wife has a slice of bee hive in the fridge.
Now I know what I'll have on toast with my second cup of coffee!
Wasn't pandasal, the woman in front of me got the last of the morning's lot. The pandasal I've had aren't that sweet, but I prefer the dinner rolls (ensaymada). Pandasal also has bread crumby bits on them.
What I've fallen in love with is the chocolate crinkles.
I'll try and get some samples in the morning.

Will take your word for it, I only tried a few over the years and like anything out of bakeries there it was ridiculously sweet. I'd assume (or certainly fucking hope) things aren't as dire now but in the entire of Angeles City we couldn't get good bread, the closest places with baked goods you could eat without putting on 50lb each week were in Manila so we'd all stock up at every chance and have freezers full of whole loaves and rolls and so on. But, you nor anyone else in history has ever moved to the PI because of their food..
Laos with the French influence is less so.
Erm...
My time spent there was enough to appreciate the influence the French imparted......
Jeff can you get Cap'n Crunch in Laos? Asking for an American friend who thinks the FBI can clear this up...
^ All of that is Pan de sal
The squashed ones are for dipping in coffee
