The anticipation...
That's a Liliputian arm, isn't it?
To real size it would be about equal to a Kit Kat finger?
I doubt it. It's apparently from an Australian resto, you know what their women are like.
They aren't boring, they are made with rice paper and are a lot of work. You have to soak the rice paper, and cut all your veggies very small and get all the stuffs and roll them.
I need to go to the store to get more things, but I plan on making these in a few hours anyway. I'm going to add rice vermicelli noodles into them.
Thank you. I really appreciate learning from you.
Not just cutting them small, they have to be in matchstick thin strips (the actual term is 'julienne'.
What makes Vietnamese spring rolls special are the difference types of dipping sauce you have with them. The sweet, the sour, that is what you need to learn to really enjoy them.

NEM CON?
Hi guys, so I have started and this is a long process. I made the peanut butter sauce first.
These are the ingredients. I have it in the fridge and it is getting tastier as it sits. I then made my noodles, and put them under cold water, then something I saw on a video was to cut them with scissors as they will be easier to roll and fit in the paper.
I am currently cutting my veggies. I just cut the mango, carrots, and now I'm doing cucumber. I'll also add tofu, lettuce, mint, basil and coriander herbs inside.
I must admit that the mango is really hard to cut julienne style. I am doing it all with a knife so.
Almost ready to wrap. Finished all my veggies, got my lettuce, herbs and tofu cut.
You can also use shrimp or pork for this.
This is what the rice paper looks like. I dipped it completely in lukewarm water, count to 6 seconds.
I used a frying pan as it fits the size good.
Very hard to show you how to wrap and take a photo at the same time.
Put your lettuce down first and add two to three sticks of veggies, add herbs on top and a bit of pasta. Fold each side over left to right, and add tofu, and roll.
Finished product.
Dipped in the PB sauce , they were delicious.. will be making more for lunch tomorrow.
