One of my students who writes for a food magazine told me about a place making khao soi pizza in CM. He said it was great.
He seems to be enjoying it...for the camera at least.

I got one once cos I thought it might work. It didn't. There are much much worse on that menu though (fish and chips pizza, banana pizza, ikan bilis pizza).
In Saudi I lapsed into a Satay Noodle dish, which used as its core ingredient, peanut butter.
Genius! I thought.
But no. It wasn't terrible but I expected better from a BBC recipe.
It just never works, does it.
On our last visit to Koh Samed we were served Pad Thai that substituted tamarind with...tomato ketchup.

Pizza picnic by the lake on Sunday arvo...
I said I would make some garlic olives and hummus dip for this white Zimbabwean cyclist lady (sporting a suspiciously Saffer accent) for a picnic.
Then she rocked up with this unexpected main course contribution with fresh basil leaves.
So we ended up stuffin our gobs to the gills and gunnels.
Amazonian Swiss Maori woman rocked up with a platter of fruit on a warm and cloudy muggy Monday
I cunningly only gave the butcher birds a half ration earlier as I knew they would come back for more and give my guest a giggle
Margarita with added capsicums and extra cheese for the main course. Miss Swiss is a vege so the pepperoni was kept on ice.
She is also a violinist and last time correctly diagnosed the problem with my 9 year-old silent violin as a paucity of resin. She kindly brought her resin with her this time and greased me up so I am now making squeaky screechy noises to rival a cockatoo.
Impress her next time by asking if she's brought her rosin.
There's an F-hole joke in there somewhere too.
