Now there's an idea as well! I wonder why someone hasn't done it yet.

I tend to refer to Uncle G in these questionable times.

One of my students who writes for a food magazine told me about a place making khao soi pizza in CM. He said it was great.

The list of pizza crimes in Asia is never ending.

How the fuck do you put khao soi on a pizza? It's a soup!

I can only think they swap the tomato for the sauce, but reduce it so it's thickened almost to a paste. And then top it with cheese?

    It sounds rotten.

My exact question and his answer as well, they thicken it so it doesn't drip off.

He seems to be enjoying it...for the camera at least.

This place in Malaysia does a tom yum pizza:

Our Hand-Tossed Pizza Menu | US PIZZA Malaysia

I got one once cos I thought it might work. It didn't. There are much much worse on that menu though (fish and chips pizza, banana pizza, ikan bilis pizza).

In Saudi I lapsed into a Satay Noodle dish, which used as its core ingredient, peanut butter.

    Genius! I thought.

But no. It wasn't terrible but I expected better from a BBC recipe.

It just never works, does it.

On our last visit to Koh Samed we were served Pad Thai that substituted tamarind with...tomato ketchup.

I must have stayed at that resort about 20 times, Topper.

From my twenties, through marriage, to my prime years.

Let me tell you - never again.

    Ao Pai Huts.

    Still feel betrayed.

    I was with my wife.

That wasn't the way to do things.

Met up with some friends at a bar later.

The first thing they said was 'Don' t order Pad Thai at Ao Pai Huts'.

Samet got sadly fvcked up and noisy - I noted it inexorably deteriorated over nearly 15 years.

Oh well - good while it lasted.

Pizza picnic by the lake on Sunday arvo...

    TeakDOOR Pizzeria-20231029_184210-jpg

I said I would make some garlic olives and hummus dip for this white Zimbabwean cyclist lady (sporting a suspiciously Saffer accent) for a picnic.

    TeakDOOR Pizzeria-20231029_184924-jpg

Then she rocked up with this unexpected main course contribution with fresh basil leaves.

So we ended up stuffin our gobs to the gills and gunnels.

Amazonian Swiss Maori woman rocked up with a platter of fruit on a warm and cloudy muggy Monday

    TeakDOOR Pizzeria-20231113_181006-jpg

I cunningly only gave the butcher birds a half ration earlier as I knew they would come back for more and give my guest a giggle

Margarita with added capsicums and extra cheese for the main course. Miss Swiss is a vege so the pepperoni was kept on ice.

She is also a violinist and last time correctly diagnosed the problem with my 9 year-old silent violin as a paucity of resin. She kindly brought her resin with her this time and greased me up so I am now making squeaky screechy noises to rival a cockatoo.

Are the bottom two carriers Jap carriers? As I recall the islands were on the port side unlike the US.
