^ Yeah well... when you spin it like that...
I'll take him a steak and kidney pie next time.

Shouldn’t there be a ‘snacks’ thread too?
Hate the idea that posters might be eating things without documenting them with extensive pictures on TD.
^ I agree Cyrille.
What about "Snacks and other miscellaneous food items not covered by other threads"?
Perhaps a 'things I would have eaten if I hadn't eaten what I ate' thread?
^ What about a "What i do when feeling superior while looking at plebs on TD now i'm retired and do sooooo much with my fife" thread Syb
Could be a goer.
How about 'Retiring without clear angst issues, a desperate need for financial oneupmanship, and alcohol related ennui and ooh Nev has been staking out my house drama drama drama glug glug glug' '
It'd overrun the word limit for titles, admittedly.
Marcie.
^ have you been sharing too much info again Syb, be great if you got back to those memorable threads you used to post up before you turned into the introvert you are now, come out mate, share
Miss Mindanao brought over a matching pair of miniature cheesecakes with caramelised edging for pudding
The cheezy beanz queen is back on the scene
Plated for serving rather than scoffed straight from the box
Followed up with a late night supper dessert of cheese plant monstera fruit nibbled straight from the cob
^ A bit cheesy though!
^Cheesy is as cheesy does for the cheezy beanz queen
Cheesecake is mighty filling and your eyes are usually bigger than your stomach in my experience
So we still had one left for afternoon tea today
MM turned her nose up at my unusually pungent exotic fruity corn cob after I told her about the high levels of oxalic acid when it is not fully ripe!
Desserts and loose women aside for 1 second, what an absolutely fantastic view and surrounds off your balcony. You must get all sorts of native wildlife and birds in your backyard, I can hear the Kookaburra's and Rosella's from here!
^Thanks Heady. Yes I am fortunately festooned and bedecked with nature's bounty and handiworx
^^that is my thigh Willy ya sick pervo!
An old favourite for Saturday night...
Chocolate pound cake with proper homemade vanilla custard.
^Home made custard
Top effort Mendip
Puts my past-its-sell-by-date Paul's Pouring Custard in the shade
But I have added it to my shopping list anyway as your pics have put me in the mind
^^
Looks good. Today I made one of our favourites, Orange and Almond cake.
First off, a couple of oranges boiled for an hour (the scrunched up foil presses the oranges under the water when the saucepan lid is on).
Once cool, the oranges are roughly chopped and any pips removed. The skin remains on the segments.
The segments go into a processor, and turned into a puree.
Eggs, almond powder and caster sugar added.
This is blended to a smooth mix, then put into a lined baking tin. Flaked almonds scattered on the top before going in the oven.
50 to 60 minutes at 180C and she's ready.
Whipped up some cream with added vanilla extract.
You certainly know how to look after yourself PAG.
That's a 10/10 from me.
First time I've had this since enjoying it at Primary school
Funny how your taste buds change
The dog can have the rest for breakfast
^
So, you don't want to marry me for my sponge cake and custard then?
I'd turn you down anyway.
