Work event out of town- real Mongolian BBQ for lunch
...is that a slab of tripe on the right?...
^ Destroyed a lovely fish there!
Friends visit for a quick visit. Of course, a few select courses from the Som Tum Vendor along with sticky rice and roast chicken legs. Good conversation over a very enjoyable set of selections.
Went all PH for lunch today. Masala Chickpeas. I never knew a gay non meat meal could be so damn good.
Sauteed garlic and bell pepper. Added toasted cumin.
Homemade Masala paste (homemade by an old Indian lass down town.)
Chickpeas.
Christ it was good.
So good that I snapped out of my homo shell and braised and added some chicken Thighs for the remainder, be it tonight or lunch tomorrow.
To save me googening, chickpeas are mainly protein and low-ish carb, right?
^ Not done one of these for a while...
Bogon Tip #284
Go to Lazada and search for 'papad'
You can get about 50 mini popadoms for 50 baht. Perfect with the curries.
--EDIT--
Because it's you. I have done the legwork for you.

Black diamonds? I shit 'em.
Though almost burned it when interrupted by a national university basketball gold medal captain javelin-ist.
Never got how they figure that Indian food stinks but durian and plaraa are like Chanel #5.
This past weekend saw me doing a tour of the west coast resort towns of Phuket, dropping off Poppy Appeal boxes at some of the expat centric places that are still actually open. One such was The Tavern in Kata. It has a reputation for doing a decent Sunday Roast so decided to try it out, and its reputation is justified.
My Australian beef roasted medium rare as I like it, as indeed the crunchy roast potatoes.
M'Sahib rated the fish and chips good (battered cod loin, REAL chips, and mushy peas).
She also ordered a Seafood Noodle salad as a standby in case the fish and chips weren't going to work. She enjoyed both dishes and in true Thai style, cleared the lot.
Home made chicken and vegetable soup..
12 inch homemade tuna cheese melt.
Kinda rolls off the tongue, that.
Fuck it was good.
Time for a lie down before running now.
I was too hungover to take on the roast so I had a fry up instead.
What to do? Defrosted four Aussie beef patties but due to a miscalc yesterday on bacon and egg roll consumption, only had one bun left. Of course, open beef cheeseburgers with caramelized onions. Bun, onions, pattie, cheese, pattie, cheese, onions and chilli (a mistake...grabbed the wrong bottle), tomato and BBQ sauces. The last thing I will eat in 2020...almost worthy of a separate thread. Glorious eating experience.
The wife is on the hunt for a new type of potato cake for her homestay English style breakfast. Asked me to watch a couple of YT cooking videos (in Thai) and make a ham and cheese stuffed potato cake. Decided like it would be a good lunch for me today so did so. Came out a treat, probably my best ever attempt the first time at a new recipe. Probably needs a bit more herb flavour to work as a breakfast element and I'll leave that to the wife. I'm going to make a few more times and focus on a more salty and savory flavour for lunch, maybe with a green leaf salad and Caesar dressing. Quite proud of the oozing cheese.
