Still, quite a jump innit.
Tallinn sure is pretty and the beer is good, but as you say Prague is cheaper and they actively encourage you to drink on the streets.
Burger Friday. Beauty weather.
Added a generous slice of Tillamook Medium Cheddar cheese and toasted the bun
All done up, added some corn chips and an ice cold IPA while I watched the Lakers and LeCry James get whooped. Doesn't get much better.
Taco Saturday for lunch. Beer came a bit later. . I have changed my eating times so that lunch is the big meal then I eat very light at night. So not too many more fat ribeyes or Porterhouse Q's for dinner. Those will now be a lunch.
Weather continues to be very nice. 16c in am and 30c afternoon.
^ I changed to that about 10 years ago. Can't go to bed full
Yeah, we've eaten our main meal (of two) at about 4:30 for about 8 years.
The really early bird special.
Yeah. I had been eating those bigger meals around 4:30 or so but I find I enjoy them more at lunch and then I am busy doing something for another 4 or 5 hours at least then a light snack type meal for dinner. I prefer it now. Again I do not eat breakfast and never have. My glass of OJ and off and running.
Miserable weather, comfort food
Fish Pie with carrots, peas, broccoli and sauerkraut.
I can never see enough of the beautiful deep green of peas and brocolli against the rich orange of carrots.
I think the colours just go so well together.

Yeah, it was. The 2nd place with the meat was a local gaff with a roaring fire where the barman was recommending different types of beers to me. I was on some cloudy 6% stuff, but I was surprisingly fine on the way home.
I really enjoy the slightly pickled salads you get in this part of the world, and which accompanied the charcuterie. I'm also a fan of your old favourite, sauerkraut, which also pops up quite often too.
Funnily enough, I was watching Rick Stein on Saturday Kitchen before and he made a posh fish pie (seafood gratin) in France.

Planning on making one next week.
Not decided what the surprise will be yet.
Made up some potato salad from scratch yesterday and let it sit overnight for lunch today
Grilled USDA Ribeye and Fresh tater salad with an ice cold beer.
Friday it is.
I had to go to immi today and pay my "foreigner residence tax" or some such stuff, a crushing 310 pesos, and right around the corner was the only 4 star (according to them, anyways) hotel in Bacolod, so the wife and I decided to try it for lunch.
My first choice was a burger that must be the most expensive burger on the island, 580 pesos (~11 USD), while not expensive for Westerners, it was a shocking price for here. I was told "out of stock". After a tad loudly questioning how a 4 star hotel's restaurant couldn't make a fooking burger when burgers are a staple here, we decided on pasta. Well, I decided on pasta, the wife had already chosen her poison.
I had to carbonara, the wife the bolognaise ...
We split a slice of carrot cake for dessert...
The carbonara seemed like it was missing something, but the bolognaise was good, not great, but good.
