    Marinated meats

A thead for marinated meat lovers.

A couple of my concoctions oven ready.
Chicken thighs marinated in Thai sweet Chilli sauce for 24hrs and pork ribs marinated in bbq sauce.

I'll give them 40 minutes on a medium heat....

    Good thread, Chitty.

Very simple and easy to make chicken wings recipe: brown sugar, garlic, ginger, lemongrass, fish sauce and a touch of ground black pepper to finish. Blend and marinate for a good few hours then Somchai's your uncle.

The meat just fell off the bone, might try a beef in Oyster sauce or Lamb and mint next...

Took some of the biscuits home for me mum and dad at Christmas one year and then asked them if they'd enjoyed them when I came back the following summer.

"We gave them to the birds" was the reply.

Ouch! Prolly about $3-4 bucks. But shit is incredible on wings. I am sure you will have plenty of cold beer to wash them down with. A must, of course.

Southern fried chicken is not easily replicated, and my lady can do a pretty good rendition, but the local soul food joint is the best I think.

Oh, that is aafes (Army and Air force exchange service). The base exchange. That southern chicken was probably made by one woman and not a universal recipe.

I saw my still army barmy dad today, I was wrong about Toc H. He said it was set up by the Salvation Army for British forces in World War 1.

The TOC H I was referring to, in Germany, was a building shared by US and British army...

Toc H (also TH) is an international Christian movement. The name is an abbreviation for Talbot House, "Toc" signifying the letter T in the signals spelling alphabet used by the British Army in World War I. A soldiers' rest and recreation centre named Talbot House was founded in December 1915 at Poperinghe, Belgium. It aimed to promote Christianity and was named in memory of Gilbert Talbot,[1][2] son of Lavinia Talbot and Edward Talbot, then Bishop of Winchester, who had been killed at Hooge in July 1915. The founders were Gilbert's elder brother Neville Talbot, then a senior army chaplain, and the Reverend Philip Thomas Byard (Tubby) Clayton. Talbot House was styled as an "Every Man's Club", where all soldiers were welcome, regardless of rank. It was "an alternative for the 'debauched' recreational life of the town".[1]

I don't think there was one near where I was stationed because I do not remember those. Did you bang out those wings yet?

Ya get your Lemon Pepper yet RD?

I really like lemon pepper marinated chicken wings. Few tips I have found that allows for a really nice taste.

I marinate in a large plastic bag. I pour in the lemon pepper to the wings and shake. I always add more coarse ground pepper. Do that 2 or so times to get good coverage. then let them sit.

While on the grill I sprinkle more on them for the first 2 turns then finish them up. Very flavorful.

I like Snubs Buffalo wing sauce but don't always like a sloppy mess. They are good though.

    Like Headworx?

The stuff I ordered is dry, couldn't see a liquid one. Reading the reviews if appears to be mainly salt

    That's Snubbles speciality

Hmmm lemon peppered chicken is next on the list..

Gonna have to buy a new bbq!

The ex got creative with the last one during lockdown by taking it apart and using it for cement moulds, I shit you not.

Took me 6 months to clear the debris from the garden and get it respectable again.
    Shalom
