Well, here's a pizza abomination....a shawarma pizza. They blind baked the pizza and then added the shawarma toppings to it ... the first couple of pieces were nice, but the tahini sauce got a bit much. LOL, it looks like an elephant blew its load on a pizza.

Did this one up with Thai pepperoni and some sweet onions. Forgot the whole pizza photo. Wife enjoyed it.

But let’s be honest, a can of wet dog food on top of a pizza would get your seal of approval.

"Mackeral Monday". M'Sahib's request this morning for the last of the 3 bases I made a couple of weeks ago, with a final topping of flaked tinned mackeral in tomato sauce, and capers. Odd choice, but as I'm not eating it, no problem, I'm here to serve.

Once the dough had defrosted, spread out by fingers into the pizza pan, topped with the last of the tomato base sauce that I'd made from the fridge, mozzarella, some black olives, the mackeral and capers.

A last minute request for some Thai basil (I dipped the leave in olive oil before putting them on the pizza).

18 minutes in a hot oven, and she's ready.

An odd choice indeed. No way you would catch me eating that. As usual your photos and pizza skills are top-notch even if the choice of ingredients is a no-go for me.

Fortunately not. As she's a pescatarian, she'd been researching fish or seafood pizzas, and found one with sardines and capers. The mackeral in tomato sauce is one of her 'go to' meals with rice hence was in the house.

I was going to mention that tinned mackerel in tomato sauce thing.

In a PAG post it was like watching Marco Pierre White plugging knorr stockpots.

It was shocking to hear that it was even in the house! The next thing we know he'll be frying SPAM.

Don't shoot the messenger! As described, this was a 'on demand' pizza, and in fairness, I did sample a tiny piece checking if the crust was sufficiently cooked (it was). What was surprising (and I really dislike 'oily' fish such as mackeral etc) was on the pizza it was OK. M'Sahib enjoys pizza with anchovies (another of my pet hate), and actually preferred the mackeral. I guess, given the fish was already in a tomato sauce, there wasn't a big deal on a tomato sauce based pizza. Guys, open your minds! There's a whole new world of pizza, freedom for fish on pizza!

Nothing wrong with Knorr stock cubes......

Makarel in tomato is the love of many kids.

I like it too with chopped raw onion and mayo on rye.

Best get rid of the tin or your kitchen will smell like a classroom full of simultane menstruating girls

Indeed, a 'puttanesca' sauce, good either on pasta or a pizza. This is a decent recipe that I use for it: Puttanesca Pizza | Recipes | Delia Online
