    Looks tasty...

Chico, an authentic carbonara does not have cream, but it's a good addition.

Yep ... looks great and I'm sure it would have tasted accordingly.

What did the other half comment?

    "More please"

If I had one small critique, I would have quartered the mushrooms,
but Hell, WTF ... I didn't cook it. GREAT WORK

    You're a chef, you say?

Each to their own and all that, but I've posted the completed version of this on the dinner thread a number of times.

There's no cream in carbonara either but it still looks good. Not sure I could deal with both bread and pasta though.

Doesn't the garlic and cream mean the dish is alfredo, not carbonara?

So, you now trawl the net to find the same recipe that I posted earlier and which Oliver has clearly learned from his time in Italy. And it keeps it simple with eggs and cheese.

This is hours after you, a self-proclaimed chef, said:

And he's so desperate to salvage what he imagines is left of his credibility that he's reduced to...a chef he spent last night slagging off.

He'll probably say that him quoting Oliver is poking fun at him whereas he truly knows the heart of Italian cooking- mushrooms, cream and all.

My missus is doing a range of microwavable dinners and the feedback she gets, being mostly positive, ranges from PUT MORE GARLIC, ADD LESS GARLIC, WHERE'S THE MUSHROOMS, WHY MUSHROOMS, WHY THYME among other constructive critical suggestions.

As Luigi posted some ingredients are very expensive and or hard to find here.

I told her to just do your best as you cannot please everyone.

He's way past that stage, apparently.

Friends frequently comment on how discreet his toupee is, though.

You may wish to know Jamie robbed the recipe from his master. and his mentor.
