Baked rabbit with garlic in tomato sauce

Baked rabbit with garlic in tomato sauce
Given that it is easy to prepare, without complicated steps, I think anyone can prepare this tasty recipe.
Baked rabbit steak with tomato and garlic sauce is one of the tastiest of the rabbit recipes I have prepared.

I have never eaten rabbit. Was told one of the groceries carried it and went to have a look. Was totally turned off when those big fat frozen rabbits were labeled “product of China.” Better I just shoot the big rabbit who dines in my vegetable garden. I’ll keep this recipe in mind.

Rabbit is delicious. Rather similar to chicken but tastier.

I used to keep ferrets and had a breeding pair called Salt and Pepper (Salt was an albino hob and Pepper was a polecat jill).

They were wonderful pets and I used to take them poaching now and again... the ferrets would stay in my Barbour jacket game pocket and I'd have a pocket full of nets for when we found a rabbit warren, and one of our Basenjis in case of escapees.

Pepper was such a wonderful ferret, she could flush a rabbit from a one hole warren... she'd get behind it and chase it out into the net. I still sometimes think of her even now, 40 years later. Salt and Pepper are still buried in my mum's garden.

Anyway, rabbit pie is fantastic. But I know one thing... in my older age I could never kill a rabbit again.
