Here's a good animation of the wreck. 50 seconds in shows it exact

"Not only did he first survive going through a full metal barrier at 160 miles per hour, he then spent 28 seconds sitting inside a giant fireball that's just an absolute inferno, before walking away and refusing an ambulance stretcher."

"How the fuck did he get out? How did he get out? That is an act of God"

    Lucky boy for sure.

^ Especially if you recall Francois Cevert's decapitation in a similar type accident at Watkin's Glen in the early 70s.

The 70's and 80's in motorsports was insanity. They had the same speeds as today with half the safety features.

There's hours worth of shit like this on Youtube from that era. One of the long standing medical officers of Indycar wrote a book about some of the shit he seen. In this crash, they found a grey substance scattered around that they assumed was oil. It turns out it was the drivers brain matter. The autopsy revealed that he broke every bone in his body.

I was going to say a ball valve for a selective soldering flux application control jet, which is more glamorous than a "pen"!

I'll assume that's the posh word for a cracker pricker and give you the benefit of the doubt.

    Crackers.

This is a cracker pricker. It was used to put holes in the cracker dough so the crust wouldn't blow out like a baloon during baking. It lets the air out of the dough. That's why you see little holes in crackers.
