Already, at 11 days old, they can make a fair noise.

They chirp back trying to answer their parents calls when they land nearby before feeding the chicks.

A bit of a crisis with the nest.

When the adults come to feed Sixteen and Dave, the chicks are so eager to get a beak full that they have slowly enlarged the small opening in the nest.
It is now twice the size than it was, the result being that at night when mum returns for a kip she is hanging out of the nest.

Anyway, here is Dave at 11 days old, keeping a watchful eye out for food.

14 days old, early morning and looking a bit sleepy before breakfast arrives.

Not anymore.

The zoom is crap, so i go into stealth mode and sneak up on them.

Sometimes i get the camera a few inches away.

Do they have parachutes in case they fall out of the nest? No Filipinos in the neighborhood I take it?

Watching them today, i reckon they will be flying within the next few days.

The nest is so bollocksed they may well fall out before they are quite ready.

They have developed the nice yellow chest plumage in the last couple of days and have turned into a pair of right fidget arsed nosy bastards.

The inaugural flight is looming.

I have changed Sixteens name to Dave.

The world awaits the first flight of the Dave brothers.

I might knit them a little something to keep them warm.

They look fully grown in there. Are you sure they haven't caught a glimpse of the evening news and are just afraid to come out?
