A bit of a crisis with the nest.
When the adults come to feed Sixteen and Dave, the chicks are so eager to get a beak full that they have slowly enlarged the small opening in the nest.
It is now twice the size than it was, the result being that at night when mum returns for a kip she is hanging out of the nest.
Anyway, here is Dave at 11 days old, keeping a watchful eye out for food.

Do they have parachutes in case they fall out of the nest? No Filipinos in the neighborhood I take it?
All these taken this morning.
It's been a busy day.

The nest is so bollocksed they may well fall out before they are quite ready.
They have developed the nice yellow chest plumage in the last couple of days and have turned into a pair of right fidget arsed nosy bastards.
The inaugural flight is looming.
I have changed Sixteens name to Dave.
The world awaits the first flight of the Dave brothers.
I might knit them a little something to keep them warm.

They look fully grown in there. Are you sure they haven't caught a glimpse of the evening news and are just afraid to come out?
Getting very close.Quote:

And so to today............
The wee bastards are 15 days old, and the brothers Dave are nearly bursting out of the nest.
One thing for sure is that these will be the last in this nest without some major rebuild. When they have flown, i'll take some photos of the knackered nest.

Dave and Dave are fukin huge - I'm beginning to think they'll never be able to fly...
https://teakdoor.com/images/imported/2015/01/1049.jpg
How cute are they?
Hope they fly soon, there are some nasty predators in Thailand that could get attracted . With the close vicinity to the wall, I'd worry most about a Tokay gekko, then centipede, then snake.
And I'd get the Missus to bang my shoes on the wall:)

Not at all sure the nest will last the night.
I feel a long night coming on, i sure as shit wont sleep for fear.
Looks a bit like one's old worn out nut sack don't it? No worries Withers, they'll weather the storm and return for another egg laying pairing next season...Happy lads by the looks of it...Next year its Ding and Dong!Quote:
