So onto todays dead butterfly the Dark Blue Tiger (Tirumala septentrionis), I thought mine may have been a poor specimen as it really is a bit of a bland butterfly for the name it has, but looking at google images mine is as bland as the rest of them, anyway you will be pleased to know they are as common as muck, all over Thailand and also in countries such as Sri Lanka and Southern India.

Pretty sure Thais don't eat them and neither do most other animals.

Tomorrow shall start on the smaller tattier butterflies I have.

This picture of the blue tiger is way oversized, the biggest they grow to is 8.5cm wing span, this butterfly is about 7.5cm wing span so a reasonable size for its species.
