They are all Hawkmoths, about 75% of this large family have that hummingbird characteristic flight pattern also one of the fastest in the moth kingdom. Hope I have been of help.

^^ No, not a pro, by no means... just a hunter/gatherer but i replaced the slingshot by a digital camera. I will post some more 'weirdos' later....
And about the English....uh... Ab alio spectes alteri quod feceris!
Well they look most impressive, you have skill! Thanks for them.
Okay, as promised... some more:
This one is e-mailing,
but not at a snail's pace
this one.
The 'kwang', a type of rhinoceros beetle, used for it's fighting skills.
Would-be Rudolph, the re....
Almost complementary colors.
A little bearded guy staring.
Upside down this one resembles a human skull.
No idea. Found at river sides.
Another mistery.
Scary stuff. Gone the next day.
Fluffy yellow thingy.
Ready for 3G.
You don't want to touch this one; a very nasty sting.
Superb photos Gipsy, well done and thanks for sharing, my boy loves em
That yellow/orange tube one with the burgundy/black ends looks like some sort of leech, especially if you got it at a riverside.
Super pics as always Gipsy.
Awesome pix Gyps, I can see people using those bugs as jewelry..they are stunning..
I concur..found these beside a river in Muak LekOriginally Posted by Gipsy

Agreed . Very good piccs. Your eyes are better than mine shunpike, i cant see no people.Originally Posted by shunpike
Yep, my pixx. Some older, that's why you sometimes see 2 different formats.
"the dogs doo dars.."??? All that comes to mind is a band, the Bonzo dog doo dah band, '60-something..., not sure what else.
Funny how also these red bugs show a face on their shield. And if you look at the close-up photo of slackula's camo-moth, the third one taken with flash, you could see a goat face with eras and horns sticking out.
local kids toy

another monster
I have posted this before; it turns into a beautiful big red butterfly, often seen in those glass cases
After all these 'nasty' critters, it's time for the beauties....
Some sort of grasshopper
Dragonfly
Offspring from the 'beardman'
Attacus atlas, world biggest moth. Local name is 'cobra head'....wonder why.
Beautiful markings
Another grasshopper checking his email
Dragonfly
Grasshopper
Moth with yet another 'face'.
Dragonfly
Digging a nest.
Not sure if this is the one that makes all these strange spots in my plants.
Dragonfly
Couldn't get out of the glas box.
Fly no more.
Gourgeous metallic blue beetle landed in front of me.
A few minutes later. Off again...
^ As if that caterpillar is lying on its back!
Excellent pics Gipsy, I'm sorry I have to use this one. It's great!
nice creepy crawlies
Just amazing pics. Outstanding!
Gipsy..
Thank you very 'big', na khrap.... Many I've never seen before, or they come and go before I can get hold of a camera. But some just don't move, even when you want them to... but at least they smile when being photographed.
Sorry there's not many names; I remember them by their color, by the plant they prefer to chew on and, occasionally, by the nasty words I shouted, when they bit me....
Superb shots!
I assume you use a DSLR, I am in the process of purchasing a Macro lens for my Nikon DSLR. Could you recommend one or tell which one you use?
Saw this one, probably obout 5 - 6 inches across, appear to have lost a leg somewhere
^ I have some of them spiders on my land, this beasty is a baby one, it's mother was too far out over the pond to get a good photo, shall take some good insect spray next time I go down there
nasty bite methinks
^Found one of those in my house a month ago. I freaked out.
Killed a 3 inch centipede today who was living under my refrigerator.
