    Your favourite alcoholic drink?

Wife Beater is the best lager to drink aka Stella Artois, sadly I haven't yet found anywhere that sells it in Thailand.

I hate Foster's, it's like drinking [beep!] or even water.

I'd forgotten about Steinlager. It was on sale in the UK during the 1998 World Cup and then dissapeared from my local supermarket. After I couldn't get Boags, I tried loads of drinks and quite liked Steinlager. I even emailed them after the World Cup and got this reply:

    Dear RDN

Thank you for your enquiry regarding Steinlager. Steinlager is sold and
distributed by HPBulmers the strongbow cider people in the UK who are
based in Hereford.Steinlager is predominantly still only available
within the M25 corridor around London. You can get it at all the
Walkabout bars which are owned by Regent Inns. Safeways also stock
    Steinlager.
I will give you two contact numbers and names.
Cait Mercer, Steinlager Brand Manager, Phone 01432 352 000
Toni Mancer, managing Director, Madison Drinks. Phone 0181 871 3900.

Best regards and thank you for your enquiry.
    Stuart Campbell
    Director UK & Europe
As I lived outside the M25 I didn't follow it up and never saw it again.

I'll keep an eye out for it.

Hmm, maybe I should reply to my 1998 email and ask the bloke if he knows where I can get it in Thailand!! Ha,ha! That'll give him a shock! In fact, I will! Watch this space for further developments!

I'm drinking Budweiser at the moment (a 'gift') and it's not all that special. As I've aged I've made the move to real ales and I don't think there will be any going back. In Los I drink Leo and it's okay as a fizzy drink with alcoholic content, but it's not nice. One the good things about being in the UK is that I can order up a pint of Headstringer's Frogspawn or maybe a quick half of Abbot's Earwax. Not sure about Auusie beer, Fosters is terrible I know that....Broccoli in a glass.
Back off Margaret, you're on a sugar rush!

Is that 'bad' as in 'good' or 'bad' as in 'bad'?

I drank two pints of real-ale this evening - it tasted like honey soaked ambrosia. I am now drinking red wine - it tastes like Toilet-Duck (Forest Pine).
