All this reminds me of a story from the past when beer was delivered with horse and carriage.
The driver from Tuborg met his collegue from Carslberg during a delivery round and found the bloke drinking a Tuborg beer.
How come you drink Tuborg when you are working for Carslberg , he said.
My employer does'nt allow me to drink beer when working , the collegue replied..

Teh only Ozzie beers I've drank that weren't absolute piss were the coopers ales. One weak as rainwater, the "Pale Ale" won;t be sening 85 baht on that again. the Stout was excellent IMO eveidently folks agree with me it's gone from the shelves! the "Sparkiling Ale," cute name sounded like a girly beer But very drinkable. MtD don;t like it but then it aint all flat and winey tastin' so we all knew that would be his opinion.
    The rest I've tasted?

Fuckin' buweiser with an Ozzie accent.
Stronger flavor but the flavor was shit so why bother?
Had Leo recommended to me the other day as agood beer, Used to respect the dudes opinion on beer next recommnedation I get? I'll look the other way.

Is Fosters an australian beer anymore?
    I do not think so.
for sometime S&N a British brewer was brewing the stuffunder licence in the Uk. A few months ago they bought the brand and wotnot for all parts outside of Australia.
S&N now sell 4 out of every 5 pints of the stuff.
So it is another sound british brew

Fuckin' brits think they invented beer, alcoholism maybe; but decent beer?
They drink budweiser and think they've tasted 'merikan beer wtf, it's close enough to the stuff the export. Fuck if I'm goin to land where it rains 363 days year and women are all bigger'n me just to taste some flat, half-assed ales.

Thank fuck we brought german folks over to make our beer. And missles

Beer's best made in small batches. Let's face it anything we see imported here is going to be second rate.

There are few beers made up here that are OK; still lack the robust flavor the name "beer" evokes thoughts of.
Next trip up I'll cook you and GoW a meal and treat you some half-way decent local brews. Gotta buy it in jugs, bring it home and drink it. Still don't hold a candle to some of the northwest brews though. actually slipped my mind this trip

The Brits know fekk all about Lager, but their lukewarm, flat version of "beer" does have a lot of variety and quality to it. A bit of an acquired taste for continentals, though.

Everyone knows Aussie beer is piss, why start a thread on it?

In yankland some quality local brew can be had, if you're determined and know where to search, or so I heard. Otherwise, they manage to turn even the most reknown quality products into pee-colored bubbly.

Agreed British lager is pretty poor, but much of this is down to the water (and yes, it really does make a difference). That said, the best lager I ever had was English. From a hand pump, nice and creamy - lovely!

English bitter can be wonderful stuff or crap (just look at John Smiths). and the varieties are almost limitless. God I miss it so much!!

American beer (not the Bud shite) has a good reputation, but the stuff the Germans made in America isn't really made there anymore as the prohibition wiped it all out. The micro brewery beer is really more American beer than German nowadays and the US drinkers are lucky to have a choice of fine beers, even if they're not to my tates.

I sometimes drink the German beers here, but I am always really disappointed. I know there is really good German beer back there, but I've yet to find one that I really enjoy in Thailand.

Never had a John smiths but I had a couple of ales "Sam Smiths?" imported form engerland. thought it was pretty decent. every beer I have had that was made here just seemed watery except the bubbly paint removers like Chaang, Shing. Heinies are certainly watered down piss

Where I live now we have heaps of boutique brewries opening up. I don't have to buy 'packaged' beer anymore.
I don't mind a Red Back though...Tooheys are also bringing out a new Pils...

Heineken is really just over-priced budweiser IMO. Just there to show people "see I can afford higher priced beer but I have absolutely no fucking taste in beers"
Although when you want to stay a bit more sober of an evening it has the intoxicating affect of water. Drink the shit all night and never get a buzz. it comes in handy on them days when you'd like to recover from a bit too much of the real stuff.

The more I drink the more FF makes sense! (nah just kidding)

I find heineken to be one of the least offensive beers in thailand but it really is a long way from the real thing and IMO that ain't that flash!

But FF is spot on with the people who drink it .....*quickly thinks which TDers I've fucked off ths time..MtD.Tiger,Torbers..Tiger..DD..what ever your buying...hmm..looks like I'm safe!*

I've drunk Toohey's new and old, Tooth's new and old, Black Swan, 4X and VB and from what I can remember the VB was the best of the group but then it's been over 20 years since I've had any of the NSW stuff. 4X is alright, after you get past the first glass. Don't like bitter beer of any sort.
