Back in England, it would be a nice pint of Theakstons Best, Blacksheep, or a well kept pint of John Smiths, on hand pull, (not that awful John Smiths Smooth, a supposedly universal beer, that reminds me of Watneys Red Barrel of years gone by).

In Thailand I enjoy Chang, Tiger and surprisingly the new Archa beer.

And there is nothing wrong with a nice gin and tonic in a large glass with plenty of ice and a good squeeze of lime!

Always drink gin and tonic in moderation, never more than one bottle of gin per session! Anything more does have the ability to make a person ill!

Iced coffee, diet coke or water. Will drink Thai whisky and coke if pushed.

For birthdays, Christmas and new year - Tequila or, if available, Mezcal and Tia Maria slammers

Mojitos rule the earth. Cuba's gift to humanity along with great cigars...Actually, I just had a great Hoyo de Monterrey on the balcony just now.

As the poll results indicate most people do with anything for me its the whisky. As I sit in here a few minutes past the new year I thought to get some info. on traveling places this year. Well great to be in the wine cellar actually a place thats highly favorable for me. My wife does not always appreciate it but I just cant help it. Especially on the New Year day it has to be with me!

I like a good Red wine with medium body like a Merlot or Zinfandell being the most drinkable on a budget, however when you get into the really fine wines you have to get a Cabernet. Don't drink over 750 ml at a sitting though, it's not like beer where you stay relatively hydrated, it drys you out and will really mess up your stomach and give you the hangover from hell if you treat wine like your at a frat party. Still though to me Gin is the drink from hell.

Funny that Ned. Don't believe I have seen Fosters being sold in Oz for some years. XXXX, however you can get anywhere.

But beer is beer, after the first few they all taste good so long as it's ice cold. Must admit Chang tastes like crap when it;s warm

When I was in Europe, it was wine.
When I was in Africa, it was whisky and beer.
When I was in Singapore, it was nothing, too expensive.
    In Thailand, beer mainly.
But if money is no object, wine.
