Lovely. Just opened my first VB for the evening. There is nothing quite like it when you have a hard earned thirst.

Aftet two and a half years of Leo, it was a wondorous moment indeed on returing to the UK to have such a choice of beer. London Pride is very nice as is Tanglefoot. I don't mind lager, but I for me it doesn't lend itself to regular drinking - it just tastes like a glass of fizzy water and chemicals after a while (which I 'spose all drinks are if we going to get analytical about it). I admire Marmite's dedication to the cause; I'm far too much of a skinflint to pay out 200 baht for an imported beer when Leo can be had for 70 Baht.....Idea! Perhaps if I mixed Bisto in with the Leo I could have the best of both worlds.

NB: Earlier on DD mentions Hurlimans. This is a fine strong lager by Shepard and Neame. Never seen it in LOS (thank goodness). A couple of pints of that and I'm well up for a game of leapfrog.

Here's a couple of links on my favorite japanese brewskys..

Japanese beer is mighty fine in my opinion, and given the choice, I would drink it over most. Although I must say that I have recently aquired a taste for OSH and Guiness ........it's just so bladdy expensive here in LoS so when i drink at home, I drink singha..........purely because it seems to give me the least severe hang-overs

This is an excellent drop, and very simular in texture to OSH.

Try it, marmers! >>>I'm sure you'll like it!

I really hope it's better than the regular Asahi. I had one at the Charoen Thani coffee shop and it tasted really chemical.

I think the regular asahi you speak of is the stuff that's brewed here in LoS..

    Agreed. It tastes pretty ordinary
