Only one choice there and thats riding around Chang mai forget riding out from Bangkok. I would also recomend for first time riders in Thailand to do a tour first so they can learn the ropes before setting out on there own.

Believe Avalon actually out of Pattaya? Near enough, Jomtiem on checking. So, 1,500b on the plane to Cm, or about the same in a taxi south...

Agree avoid riding out of Bangkok! It ain't worth the hassle.
