Nice thread Marmite, you lucky bugger.
I can't wait for the day I'm here permanently and can run a decent bike around Thailand, instead of nicking my sister in law's fino for trotting around the sois of Pattaya when I'm here.

Great thread Marmite, thanks. Did several trips up to Nakhon Phanom nicely set up in the back of a pickup (we always froze our tits off going over the mountains) and the roads were always very good and the scenery was often stunning. I only ever rode a bike on Koh Samui (and a bit around Pathum Thani) but would have loved to have had a big bike for touring.
I don't suppose you know of any Honda places that are familiar with the V4 engine do you? I would really like to find someone who really knows the engine to put a bit of TLC into it.Originally Posted by Airportwo

He is apparently planning to set up a workshop in one of the houses on the estate where you stayed and if you are not in a hurry he would be the man to see.
Started off early AM from Roiet. The trip below totaled about 2500 km to/from CM. About the same for Marmite and Texpat. A long drive but well worth it. Green blobs are overnight stops on the way to CM. Blue out, red back. No stops on the way back so a 10 hour drive.
"Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect,"
First stop in Nongkhai at Texpats house. Barbeque ribs and chicken for Christmas dinner. Pic below is morning after. Note the absence of Texpat and Marmite who were still sleeping off the effects of extreme over consumption of beer the night before. Norton and ladies waiting patiently for their recovery.
Off to Loei. Stayed at a friends. Beautiful home.
And garden.
Then off to Phrae. A long scenic drive.
Our trusty tour guide, Thetters took us to see the "Grand Canyon" of Thailand. Clearly Grand is a relative term.
Then off to CM where we stayed in DrAndy's secluded hide away bringing in the New Year.
A very cold night so a fire was in order. Frankie after consuming a bottle of Wild Turkey managed to catch his pants on fire but no serious injury resulted.
The launch team in action. Frankie on the ground in a near catotonic state.
Success!!!
Nice pictures.
Nice travel story.
Bit of a girly bike but.
Who's is the 'shack' in the hills and any better pics of it ?
Shack!!! I'll have you know this is Chateau de DrAndy. No phone, no electricity and no road. DrAndy will rent at a very reasonable rate.Originally Posted by Nawty

Great pics - from both of ya!! Sounds as if you had a time of it with your adventures. By the way, where's Tex been of late...no hide nor hair?? Cheers
Nice....I like shacks like that.
Anything to do up there ? or just sit and shack out ?
is that the midget wearing the "London" t-shirt?
Tex? I believe he was inspired by our visit to the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden and is busy turning his garden into a paradise.Originally Posted by Rural Surin

Tex probably has higher priority from the wife. Moving that frikken concrete table back upstairs before he is allowed to do anything else. Hope he gets a hernia.

Great thread, <wonders why he sold his big bike>
And this from the CM Zoo. He seems a bit excited over all the female attention.
