2 night 1000km loop through Southern Thailand

First stop was The Krung Ching Sea view hotel. On the edge of the Khao Luang national park near Nakhon Si Thammarat.

Not sure how they got the name, but it was neither near the sea nor was the much of a view.

The place was quiet, too bad I couldn't enjoy it much with ants crawling on me during the night.

I was up early and off to the hot springs I knew about from a visit a year ago.

This shrine with the chickens was a recurring theme:

After a nice soak and a noodle breakfast I headed east and south towards Nakhon Si Thammarat and south to the coast along Pak Phanang.
This is a long straight stretch of road which end at Songkhla.

    A crematorium:

Some interesting condos. There were quite a few like this without windows:

There were many nicely painted houses along the way:

This beach went on for miles and miles:

A small glimpse of ThaleLuang the big inland water near Phattalung:

I was going to explore Hat Yai but had to head back and stayed the night in Trang.
Had a pleasant night in an old (built 1964) hotel in the center of town.
Some good food. Sorry forgot to take any more pics.
    Next day back to Phuket

Maybe a typo -> Krung Ching See view. As for the view it's not very surprising, many famous waterfalls here are more like mere Alps torrents.

Early, Good to see ya got the 'ol Bimmer back on the road.
Have you ever stayed at a fishing port, near or at Tha Sala ?
Its just a few Kms north of N Sri Thammart, its gorgeous, a small hotel, clean & tidy but with very hard beds, a restaurant looking over the port with the best seafood I have eaten anywhere. (an I have had my fair share). I could spend a week there just pigging out on the seafood and drinking.

Just looking at the Bimmer, you sure you have enough luggage capacity for 2 nights? Or have you got the kitchen sink in there?

^I went through Tha Sala. I'll have to stop next time.
Yep it's a pleasure to be out on the road again.
I'm having fantasies now of riding around the world. I might just try to ride through Indonesia and island hop to oz and kiwi land to start. As you can see I got the kit to do it.

The wonderful thing about Thailand is that despite the demise of places like Phuket, Samui and worse still Pattaya, there are hundreds of small beaches that are yet to be discovered.
No Western tourists, no English spoken, excellent if basic accommodation, wonderful food at bargain prices.

1,000kms, half a dozen pictures, most containing pics of a gay bike, I am not impressed, it must be quite obvious to everyone that earl is a raving homo

So is the place Khanom if not whats the name guys and what was the name of that nice hotel with hard beds???
This side of the south really looks great. Since the islands are already developed its a matter of time this place follows Phukets footsteps, though Thank God theres still nice uncrowded beaches in Phuket left.
