    ^well, Topper did say that it was a "workcation", so I'm not surprised that he's not gallivanting around the touristy areas in BKK and taking pics. We're lucky that we got a burger review and a nice looking resto with white & blue chairs. (I liked the chairs.)

    Yes he did but the title encourages the unwary into thinking they might be in for a little more. Even a daily blow by blow account of his man flu, which flavour noodles I had today or how lax the maid was ....

    ^ We had the maids (3 of them) in yesterday. They were in an out in an hour and didn't make a peep as I was teaching. Today, we returned to Fashion Island to pick up some supplies and gifts to bring home and say hello to the place I taught at for 15 years, part time.

    Tonight is our farewell family gathering. I understand Mexican is being ordered in.

    I did try one of these today, very hoppy...

It may be secured at the BI Main Office or in selected District Offices, Satellite Offices, Field Offices, One-Stop-Shop Offices and Extension Offices. In particular, foreign nationals falling into the following categories should secure an ECC-A prior to their departure:

    1. Holders of Temporary Visitor Visa (also referred to as tourist visa) who have stayed in the Philippines for six (6) months or more;
    2. Holders of expired or downgraded Immigrant or Non-Immigrant Visas;
    3. Holders of valid Immigrant or Non-Immigrant Visas but are leaving for good;
    4. Philippine-born foreign nationals who will depart from the Philippines for the first time;
    5. Holders of Temporary Visitor Visa with Orders to Leave;
    6. Bona fide seafarers who have stayed in the Philippines for 30 days or more and has a duly approved discharge from BI.

    Meanwhile, ECC-B is issued to departing holders of Immigrant and Non-Immigrant visas with valid ACR I-cards and are leaving the country temporarily. It is a single-use receipt issued to evidence their Special Return Certificate (SRC) (for Non-Immigrants) or Re-entry Permit (RP) which is valid for one (1) year. It may be secured at the BI Main Office or in the airport upon departure.

    Sadly, no Mexican, Pizza Company and lechon from a place here...the skin was nice a crispy but the meat was essentially flavorless accompanied by lumpia Shanghai that was so greasy that even my fat self couldn't enjoy them.

    I do love my family though and it was nice hanging out with them!

    ^if the lumpia was homemade, they probably didn't "rest" them on paper towels so that the oil would be decreased. I dislike greasy food too - I seldom eat fried stuff nowadays.

    @tizme - at 5'6", your partner is quite tall for a Filipina. I remember her cousin - I think she was in your vid - the hike to Mt Gulugod Baboy. She seemed to be very jolly. So she has twins now - congrats to the happy couple!

    @BLD - yep, I'm short by Western standards but for Filipino height, I'm average. I've got short genes - mom is 5' and dad was 5'4", so me at 5'2" was an improvement!

    btw, from memory Mrs BLD and I were of similar height. Is your eldest son as tall as you now?

    ^Thanks for that, Mr. Norton. I didn't know the song, so had a listen. It reminds me of 40s to 50s movies, WW2 era & hair like Marilyn Monroe or Jane Russell in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

    But I'm 5 foot 2 and eyes of brown.

    @bld - your boys have good genes & nutrition. I reckon that they'll be taller than you when they're full grown. I see that the eldest is in his long hair stage again. There's a Tagalog rock song which goes: "anong paki mo, sa long hair ko?" which translates to "what do you care about my long hair?!"

    @norton - reminds me of a local expat here, named Bud Brown. (He has a YT channel.) He was a navy vet & met his Filipina wife while stationed in Olongapo in the late 60s or early 70s. Their love story was picked up by local TV stations. One station got the rights & even dramatized it. It's "Magpakailanman - The Bud & Gloria Brown story". It's on YouTube but I don't know if there are English subtitles. (mostly in Taglish) "magpakailanman" means "forevermore". The show features uplifting lives of real people. The host interviews the people after the drama is shown.

    Cheers!

    ^There is. It's "mahabang buhok" (buhok = hair) but Tagalog words are sonetimes long. "Long hair" was used in a song, so the writers also had to think of the rhythm. (and it's common among us to use Taglish in vernacular, esp among kids/ teens. Nowadays, we only write in pure Tagalog if it's in essays/ school work.) Similar to "Spanglish" in Florida or California.

    The lyrics of the song "Long Hair" by the band "Weed"

    Anong paki mo sa long hair ko
    (what do you care, abt my long hair)
    Anong paki mo hindi ito sa 'yo
    (what do you care, it's not yours)
    Anong paki mo sa long hair ko
    (what do you care abt my long hair)
    Inggit ka lang kasi ikaw nakakalbo.
    (You're just envious bcos you're balding)

    *****
    It's a rock song, so it's angsty & rebellious. Lyrics - thnx to Google.

    ^I think if you have a mixed population (esp in London), then you will have all sorts of accents & combinations with English (Taglish, Spanglish, Vietlish, etc).

    I once watched a YT vid abt UK accents (the vlogger is a TEFLer) - he said that in some parts of London, there's the Cockney accent mixed with Jamaican/ Caribbean accent. Oddly (or maybe not so odd), I understood the Jamaican/ Caribbean accent better than some northern UK accents (like Geordie, Scouse, etc).

    When I first went down to work in London, my nice welcoming work colleagues often said they understood me better when I was speaking French as opposed to English
