    Vacation by the Beach

A week ago we had a much needed break on/by the beach.

After packing officially the World's Heaviest Bag...

...and dropping the dog off for swimming lessons and her own hotel break...

..we headed to Rayong and Koh Samet. The Rayong side of the pier is under renovation so is obviously its a mess. We had to park on the road to get a ferry ticket and then follow a guy to a car park down the road where he brings you back on a sidecar.

I'd like to see what morning looks like
Don't wanna drink pint after pint
I wanna wake up without feeling sick
    But I can't cuz I'm a drug-abusing alcoholic

A rare smile from the dog... it looked well happy to be swimming!

Usual place was fully booked so we went into Silversands. Room was basic but had everything you need. Then during the day we'd walk over the road and chill. We like the area 'cos daughter always makes friends and gets to hang out with people her own age.

The dogs very popular with the kennel so normally spends her days in the front office chilling out in the AC. Wasn't sure she'd like swimming but seemed to get the hang of it

I had a steak on the last day because I'm an idiot and can't help myself. And it was truly awful.

The food in general was ok although quality of dishes changed by the day.

1 morning I saw a bacon sandwich on the menu for 70thb....

Turned up and it was basically a BLT and not the simple British bacon sarnie I was pining.

Looks very nice all round (excluding the gay pink large man bag... ).

Beach looked very nice place to relax.

But, this looked very Thai safety style - what's the current odds of it ending up in the sea? I'd put money on at 3-1.

    Cycling should be banned!!!

Yogi would have tapped her up, had she stayed. Looks aren't an issue with Yogi, he'll go for anything.

    No offense meant, Armstrong!

Quite a nasty and uncalled for comment there, Armstrong.

If little Porky (sorry, I don't know her name) plays her cards right, Yogi is available. Personally I think she should jump at the opportunity (well, shuffle at least) because Yogi does OK.

That gave me a laugh too, Mendip.

Thanks Armstrong, I'm now waiting for the news a bulldozer fell through a pier that was being constructed.

Whilst having good food available is a bonus, for a few days snacks or what's available won't spoil a family holiday for the kids. They'll remember the holiday, never remember what they ate or drank. Lesson in priorities.

She loves it. She exchanged numbers with a friend to meet up in Bangkok at some point too.

This has all the makings of a good dog soap opera. Rich/ high breed girl meets poor/ low breed boy. Will they conquer the odds? Despite the rich girl's dad disapproving of the match?

(although to Yogi's credit, he does have a rich sugar daddy who loves to wear Jesus sandals. )

I've never thought that Armstrong would be classist....

    *******
Thnx for the pics, looks like a nice vacay!

Edit: btw, any update on the house build? Just curious...
