You're right. There's nine months of this shit & so far I've covered three weeks.

There's my drug arrest & a hitman on my case to come, plus an insight into the daily lives of a criminal gang (they would call themselves mafia - I wouldn't) I befriended. No story of Pattaya would be complete without falling in love with a bargirl & meeting her parents to discuss getting married & I've got all that to tell, too.

For now I'm going to go over the thread & add some more pictures.

I said she wasn't much of a looker. Big-hearted, though.

On the beach, at night, with no money, drinking a dirty big bottle of beer.

Paradise had lost some of its shine

A phone call to England revealed that it was the Bank Holiday weekend & that I wouldn't be getting any money for the next few days, no matter what. I had no money at all & the only thing I had to sustain me was my minibar, which was restocked daily.

I explained the situation to Yupin. I could tell she was wondering how exactly I could end up broke when I had been splashing the cash like a two-week millionaire during the time we had spent together, but she accepted things for how they were & didn't seem to mind.

She had to get ready for work & went off on a motortaxi, returning a short while later with 300 Baht, which she gave me & told me to get some food & stuff, then went to work.

That 300 Baht felt like 3000 in my hand & I headed to Subway for a Sub of the Day - 89 Baht. It wasn't much but it was enough. With the remainder of the cash I got a Baht bus to Walking St & went to see Yupin in Hootys.

This went on for a few days. Each night, before she went to work, she would give me 300 Baht & leave me to do my own thing. Sometimes I would buy a couple of her favourite drinks (Spy Coolers) & save them for when she come back. Mostly, I would buy a Subway & some fags then go to Hootys for a single drink, as it was all I could afford.

Eventually, I got a wedge from Western Union & I offered Yupin 10,000 Baht as a thank-you, which she refused to take. I insisted she take it but she wouldn't. We had become firm friends.

The day came to do a visa run. I had booked it with the Sportsman on Soi 13 & it was a good service. I used to eat a lot in the Sportsman & they do a good Sunday carvery. If you are ever in Pattaya you should check it out.

It was around 2400 Baht for a seat on the bus including all the fees & a good breakfast. The only downside was a couple of the other passengers. There was a Canadian who laughed out loud at the movie which was playing when it was only slightly funny, at best & another guy who only wanted to talk about all the girls he had fucked up the arse. Neither of them were my cup of tea & I was glad when the trip was over.

I didn't have a passport photo so the girl in charge of the bus took 100 Baht off me & paper-clipped it to my application. This would ensure the lack of photograph was overlooked, apparently.

^ Hitman had a great thread in members that was the whole reason I got started on here. Spoon beatings of ex-gf's boyfriend.

Dr Z only lasted about 100 posts, JB.

Yupin took me to the bank & using my passport & her address I was able to open a bank account, which was good as I had a tidy sum sat in the safe at the hotel, which is never a good idea.

A week or so went by. Yupin & I were always meeting up (Yupan's rich Yank was over, so we didn't see much of her) & I would go to see her when she was at work or in her room, usually when I was passing. Sometimes she was with a customer & I wouldn't see her for a few days but it didn't matter as I was her friend more than anything & was pleased when she met a bloke who treated her nice. The last I heard about all that she was arranging a visa to Turkey for a holiday with him.

I found I was repeating the same old things each day & was becoming a little bored. I decided I would try & find some smoke from somewhere. I had noticed what looked like some drug dealers on Walking St & decided to start my search there.

I had been on the run, so to speak, for five years prior to going to Thailand, for a job I did on the South coast. It wasn't until after the Spoongate incident that the heat started to catch up with me.

It wasn't such a big deal as I was using a bent passport & nobody was going to find me.

I was approached soon enough by some dealers, thinly disguised as cigarette salesmen. I followed them down the small path which led from Walking St to the motorbike parking area of the VC Hotel, when they suddenly leapt over the barrier & made their way to a secluded beer bar, which had just a few moody-looking Thai characters sat around it. Not many people here will know of it & they certainly weren't looking to bring any customers into it. It looked like a place for them & them alone.

I sat on a stool & ordered a beer. I was offered everything you can imagine - yaba, ice, E, some smoke & even cocaine. I wasn't entirely convinced the gear was genuine but I decided to take a chance.

I bought a few bags of smoke & a large bag of ice. The dealers were well happy at the price I paid - 8000 Baht in total - & I assumed I had overpaid, but didn't mind. I asked them how I was supposed to take the ice & one of them suggested I go to his room, where he had a special pipe, specifically designed for smoking it.

We ended up in a decent-enough room on Soi Xzyte. Here we went through the ice. It was good shit & I ended up high as a kite, having a great time. I was aware my companion was a bit of a shady character but I was used to guys like him & didn't give it too much thought. We both got on pretty well & listened to some music while he showed me his knife collection.

We ended up going back to the beer bar where I had bought the stuff & while the other customers were wary of the strange farang at their bar, it looked like my new-found mate was vouching for me & I was soon being bought beers by the rest of gang, enjoying proper conversation with proper people & there wasn't a fake smile to be seen anywhere. I was careful to buy a beer back for each one I was bought & not take the piss.

On reflection, the stuff was worth about 5000, but what can you do when you don't know the score? What you call a session & what I call a session are probably a world apart, too.

I left the bar at around 5am. My new chums were great & I promised to go & see them again. I never made it the next day, as I spent the entire time in bed, coming down off the ice & felt like shit. It was the following day when I went back to the bar.

The usual suspects were there & they seemed happy enough to see me. I had my Manchester City shirt on & the talk turned to football. They were surprisingly clued-up on the English game & we had a great chat. I was enjoying myself more than I ever did talking to any farangs.

You seem to have quite a memory for detail, considering this was a year or so ago. Did you keep a journal or do the pictures just jog your memory?

    It's a good story nonetheless.

It's not possible to successfully hide your face in digital photos anymore. As you will see I have applied advanced image decryption algorythms and can now reveal CO's true identity:
