This photo is taken near the marine department pier. To the far left of the photo you will see a white building approx 8 floors high.
This is the river view guest house. It has very affordable rooms and a great restaurant on the roof with brilliant views of the river especially at night.
Theres a French dude who has rented a room on the 7th floor for 10 years.
Check out the dude standing on the bamboo scaffolding.

I always thought this building was condemned (a local journo told me) and it had been empty for years due to the cost of knocking it down.
Maybe a few million baht in a brown envelope made the building safe again?

It was vacant for years, the hilton group bought it and got it up running again.
Took along time to renovate but it looks ok except for this weird scaffolding they have covering the front of it.

The orange flag on the public ferry means it stops at every pier on the river.
The ferry is a brilliant way to get around and see some interesting sights in the process.
This is the tourist ferry and does the run from Sapan Taksin pier to Phra Athit pier. It costs 18 baht , stops at all the tourist spots on the river and is a brilliant way to get around.
