Do you ask for permission to film or photograph anyone at all as you get around?
Of course not. Neither does anybody else using their phone cams or dash cams.

I was not filming the children per se, only my teaching method, with the cam angled to pick up what was immediately within my working range, a few feet, my hand movements clearly visible as I moved around the room assisting the kids with their painting. The cam was not focused on individual children or scanning the room, and audio was picking up sounds closest to me clearer than the background class noises, which was what I wanted, and it was all done in co-operation with the school's owner.

After 40 years in education, the last 15 in Australia as a school principal I am only to well aware of the dangers of being a male teacher.
But, in Australia and the UK, parental consent is mandatory for any form of filming or photographing of students in any way shape or form.
Consent is also required for the reproduction and presentation of students work in any public forum.

Mind you, this is what applies in "proper schools".
Where you seem to be working anything goes as long as the "owner" agrees.
