Saturday and Sunday is family day in Lumpini park, last Sunday I was walking along and heard some great music being belted out from the Amphitheater. I sort of figure the protesters decided to keep this area clear so normal families can still enjoy this area. Good call that.
The band had it going on singing in English.
The band where tight and the girl singer was brilliant. A powerful clear voice.
More business going on.
This little fella was doing real good with his box full of 20's.
This guy was doing OK as well.
Family time in the park.
This is what Lumpini represents to me, Seeing normal Thai people enjoying themselves on the weekend in a friendly trouble free environment. Many different activities are carried out in lumpini from ball room dancing to Tai Chi. Also equipped with a center for the elderly, convention center, market, restaurant, fitness centers, basketball court and many other facilities.
The hat ladies get around.
Best time in the park is day break , here I am Yesterday passing the Dusit Thani at 6.00AM
Pass the big screen, aerobics time every morning regardless.
Pass the first group of joggers. Plenty of room still for exercise.
This guy leads the elders into their stretching routine.
It always impresses me how the elderly embrace trying to keep active in this park. In my country they are usually dribbling in their Weetbix, putting on their slippers and turning on the Idiot box.
The people embrace all disciplines of exercise.
Just off to the shitters.
Kids enjoying the morning.
Sorting out the washing.
The living legends of Lumpini park. These old guys pound the pavement and pick up people on the way. They have a horn that they honk on the way, Some days they will have a group of over 50 jogging along.
