Got to be 9 for the most 'face'. Must be a shortage of monks up north.

no monk has ever set foot on my land, nor will one while i am still alive...
i do not have anything against them, in principle- i respect people's right to believe in, or follow any religion they choose, but i would be an hypocrite if i went along with something i disagree with, just to make the wife happy, and she should respect my rights, and go see a monk at the temple if she likes..

i fall somewhere on the continuem between nick and marmite regarding monk shit. the issue has been raised several times by the gf and i said whatever with the unspoken understanding that i would likely opt to be away on the day of the event and it best not cost me much. the path of least resistance is ok with me on this. i dont care what crap people believe so long as they dont get any on me and i dont have to particpate or pay (much anyway).

Definitely caught my best side, there Busters.

gf told me I had to attend the ceremony. asked what time it starts. 7am... turned up at 11am. Was over by then. Shame really..Maybe next time.............

I do such things because I know that there are a myriad of things in the universe that we don't know, understand or can explain.

I respect my wife's beliefs when it comes to these things. While being powerfully spiritual and magical myself (flame away, I don't care) I know that there are specific applications of spiritual magic that I am unaware of.

My wife poo-pooed my announcement about the strength of my own spiritual power but now respects it due to things she saw and couldn't explain that I did.

We have the plants to keep evil ghosts away, we had our marriage blessed in the temple even though all we did was register at the amphur.

Any time she wants monks to sanctify anything, I don't even question it. I say, "Yes".

It's nothing about her being she-who-must-be-obeyed (she doesn't have to be) but it's a matter of me allowing another spiritualist to help.
