    Songkran in Pattaya and Jomtien

Thsi will probably be quite a long thread as Songkran in Pattaya lasts something like a month or 2, well thats what it feels like, it started here a couple of days ago and the grand finale will be probably the 20th, so if your running a business here and hoping to make some money this week your gonna be sadly mistaken as your Thai staff probably won't turn up, the ones that do will probably be drunk or hungover, and you will just wish you had closed down for the period

Anyway this was yesterday in Jomtien. not too hectic yet.

The warriors gathering on the streets.

Out of ammo so off to the hose pipe to get more water.

    Armed and dangerous.

    Stitch that sucker.

Friends of mine arrived here in Pattaya yesterday. I warned them to pack all electronic items in plastic bags. They did but it did not help since the got watered by using buckets. Damage around $ 1500. What a great fun...

At least those kids aren't in the middle of the road spraying water like the 2 stupid fcukers who i nearly ran over yesterday, you have to wonder about the parents of some of these kids, i would guess they were probably aged 6 or 7, had no-one supervising them and were walking into the road at evry passing bike.

I went out on my bike yesterday. I got wet, oh, what fun! I won't go out again until it has all stopped. Really, who thought up this idea? it really is crap, dangerous and not fun.

The BBC has some interesting photos. You can even add to them - if they're good enough

Have to admit - it looks like fun at BBC. Bad thing is that I am in the middle of the action here in Pattaya every day for one week every year.

Now I think - are all news at BBC made up like this???? Can I trust the feeling that BBC spreads or the feeling I have when I leave the room???

    Pattaya Songkran

Well today is the main day for Songkran in Pattaya, although tomorrow we will get the spill over from Rayong and other areas, shame the government has concluded the death and accident toll as I do feel dead people in Pattaya should be included in it, we are people as well

Anyway I was up before the crack of dawn today so waited till it got light to see who had prime battle positions.

The iceman was there first, he got prime selling position although I thought putting ice in the water was a banned practise.

The water tank got a good position, nice powerfull pump on this beasty.

And the stalls start setting up to make a baht or 2, don't look like talcum powder to me, probably dried white dog turds for all I know.

    Let the battle commence.

I spoke to chap last night who told me that the police were breaking the tube-guns in Pattaya.

Songkran in P-lok was excellent. No aggression, just good fun.

The Songran war starts in Pattaya

Well yesterday was just a traffic jam all day all over Pattaya and Jomtien, I am hoping that today they have got it all out of their systems for another year and it shall hopefully be nice and quiet and safe on the roads.

Using a plastic bag to protect your camera makes all the pictures crap so I had to keep sneaking it out of the bag to take photos.

A young Thai lady taking a break from the war.

The vehicles just stopping next to each other to exchange water fights and grope each others girls.

Some of the girls were quite hot.

Using the Thai hosepipe in the traditional manner to gently sprinkle water on their elders as a sign of respect.

Yes there are also ugly people in Thailand.
