Third Thai-Lao bike races later this month

A mountain bike competition will be held over the Friendship Bridge across the Hueng river between Thailand and Laos later this month. Lao ambassador Ouan Phommachak said the third Friendship Bike Races will take place on Oct 27-28.

The bridge over the Hueng river links Thali district in Loei and Kaenthao district, Xaiyaburi province, in Laos.

The event has been held annually since the bridge opened in October 2004.

Preeda Chullamonthol, president of the Thai Cycling Association's technical affairs, said this year's event will be fun and more attractive with bigger prizes.
