Wong Amat Beach - Naklua

This is the next beach North of Pattaya, sometimes called Wong Amart Beach, this area Weiner Snitznal is more popular than Fried Rice in the local restaurants.

Actually the German restaurants are extremely good around this area and well worth a visit, plus it's only a 10baht taxi ride into Pattaya for the more wilder life style.

Anyway the first beach is really nice and secluded, no touts here to annoy your day, there is one big main restaurant on the beach which looks quite nice and a couple of Thai food stalls set up on the beach sidewalk, the second beach is the pits, as you walk the nice clean sandy beach to the rocky bit on your left, you will find another nice cove, but as you get closer you will be disgusted by all the trash in the sea and on the beach.

From here the second cove or beach at Wong Amat looks okay don't it, well it aint believe me, it's horrific, if you know of anybody that collects junk and recycles it then this is the place for them.

I went there about 2.5 years ago. We drove down from Bangkok, spent an hour or so on the beach and then drove back to Bangkok. A complete waste of time if you ask me.

I used to work in Pattaya for 10 months and my office was next to the beach, not far from Wongamart. Apart of this junk, it's quiet and lovely.

Didnt Central have an older hotel there? They have since torn it down and are building a huge new hi rise I believe.

There's some huge condominiums there which are almost empty. Some rich people just bought it for nothing.

That was called Central Wongamat and yes, they are building a new five star resort now.

I was here at the weekend

didn't spend a lot of time on the beach

but very laid back and clean from what i saw.

couldn't find internet anywhere and i'd left my laptop at home

really scary looking temple around the headland mind you

I've been to some beaches in Thailand where the garbage like this was piled 5 feet high. What I regret was paying to go there.
