Rental Advice/Help Bangkok or Chiang Mai

As some may already be aware the cimboc's are moving to Thailand in a month for an extended period. Now we had planned on spending the first few months up with MM but its sounding more and more like accom is an issue in Ubon.

    So...

Our other two options are Chiang Mai and Bangkok - I will be coming over in the next week for a flying trip which will include CM to check it out as we have never been there and really want to get a first hand look before perhaps taking the leap.

If anyone has any links or knows of any available rentals in either Bangkok or Chiang Mai I would love to hear about them. I sure there are millions of places in BKK and as I have very limited time available in CM any suggestions to help speed up the process and cut back on the foot work would be greatly appreciated

We are after atleast a 3 bedroom as we are a party of 5 and would like to be close to public transport etc - so in Bangkok something along the skytrain for example but ideally not sukumvit... We would be happy with a Condo but ideally would love an apartment that has facilities like wifi or internet, pool, kids play area, gym, etc etc.

I trying to stick to a budget of 35,000 baht too

    Cheers again for any input!

Accommodation isn't an issue in Ubon or anywhere else in Thailand. There's loads to be had if you're prepared to get on a bike and go looking for a day or two. And, with a budget of 35k, you would be able to rent an entire a village.

As for Bangkok, Mr Roomfinder | Find Bangkok Apartments - Thai Condos - House Rents or sukhumvit map or Silom - Satorn MAP

Spent a lot of time in Ubon looking for accommodation have you Marmers?

I have been for the last 2 weeks and we are still in a hotel renting 2 rooms for us and the kids.

After spending hours and hours driving around the place we found the grand total of two houses for rent. Both were dumps.
We have put the word out amongst local expats, a number of Thai Dr's and lawyers as well as local business owners.
There is one local paper that has no advertisements at all for real estate and no real estate offices.
I have advertised on TD, TV and Baht and Sold.
I am yet to find any apartment bigger then a 1 bedroom and as I just said yet to find a house that isn't a mozzie breeding home with no yard, crap access and half the size we need.
I know there will be something out there and hopefully we will find it eventually but it is a hell of a lot harder then you think.

Now I hope someone has some info in CM for us otherwise it may be a bit of a wasted trip. Names/ addresses of any really nice looking places for us to check out?

The 35,000 baht I think was for Bangkok, cimboc realises that it will be heaps cheaper in CM and even more so in Ubon.
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.
