    Money Transfer Question

A mate of mine has some cash in the UK and wants to buy a condo in Thailand. Thing is, as he had bad credit in the past his account is a little spasticated (It's only service being an ATM card for use in the UK). There's the problem. He needs to transfer money to Thai owners in a Thai bank, but his account doesn't allow it. Only thing he can do is take out the money in cash. If he western unions over the money he can't prove it was bought into Thailand (a pre-requesite for legally buying i believe) or can he?
does anyone know a way he can do this? any broker type operations for cash fees?
any good ideas appreciated - cheers.

    ^ Thanks for that.

Found them on google too - will see if they allow you to pay in cash.

Why can't he put the cash into your account and then you move it to his account in Thailand.
His pass book will show the money coming from abroad

Not an expert, but I beeive the money must go nto a specially designated account?

You should check this out carefully.

Additionally, transferring the cash directly to the Thai owners seems like a really, really bad idea.

Can you still deposit large sums of cash into someone elses bank in UK? Obviously it will have a slip/receipt saying that it was just withdrawn from said basic account?

Bring in cash and declare it at customs. They will direct you to the right desk/office, you count it in the presence of an officer, he gives you a chit confirming your import of that amount (for property purchase), and the bank will accept it.

You can take out from UK and bring in to Thailand legally 10000 sterling I believe.
Might mean a few trips perhaps with friends.
I once got stopped at Heathrow by woman PC with alsatian to look in my bag.
I was carrying a lot of printed out documents which the dog could smell

^ Good point that mate , was watching a program the other day and the UKBA now have dogs trained to sniff specific things like money . We all assume they are sniffing for drug traces but some are now on the look for people importing money .

No danger of em stopping me
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs
