    Hotel Ibis Pattaya

Hotel PATTAYA Hotel Ibis Pattaya: hotel reservation in PATTAYA

New budget hotel from Accor. Located on 2nd Road, just before the Tiffany's.

Come and check in. All the staff are very friendly, professional and attentive. Always give you a big smile.

Next to the reception is Internet Corner. I didn't try it, so cannot comment.

Further from the internet corner is the bar.

They also have a restaurant, which is located on the left hand side when you walk into the front door.

You can access to the pool from either here ^ , or from the bar.

Ok, now let's go up and see the room.

I think there are about 60 rooms on my floor.

The room is of an ok size.

Telly has dozens of English speaking channels. And Russian... And Arabic.. Japanese..

    Desk by the window....

... with closet to the left, including safe box, towels for the pool and an extra pillow...

... and the fridge with two bottles of water

To the right of the desk, get some free coffee/tea.

Now, let's go see the bathroom. It's a tad too small, IMO.

Open the door and find this.

    Look right, and find this.

    Look left, and find this.

Have to say I'm quite happy with my stay there and I find it good value for the money. Although, my chauffeur did ask me twice if I couldn't have possibly found something more central.

You being a woman. What is it about Pattaya, that draws you to this questionable seaside resort?

1,240 bht, no ghosts, no bed bugs. I think it's ok.

Don't know about female guests. But they allowed my male guest.

The price I got from their website was just under 1300 baht, inclusive of tax. How much did you pay (if you don't mind my asking)?

Nevermind, sorry, was a bit slow on my posting.

Nice looking place but not especially cheap. I usually pay about 600 - 700 a night for something very similar but without the courtesy tea or coffee.....which I get 50 yards away from a 7/11.

Copy that. Looks like a clean, new hotel, but you can get better for money elsewhere.

A good budget option is Shagwell Mansions. Depending on the time of year, 600-900 baht, including breakfast.

I stayed there over new years with my gf. We both thought it was nice. Not far from the beach, a hell of a walk from the pier though.

looks like a good deal at 600 considering the location and the scarcity of guests ... nice pool though

With an ACCOR Advantage PLUS card it was 1906 baht for two nights.... as of this morning.

Advantage card gives excellent "best available room rate" in all their hotels plus one night free in any of the ACCOR chain and basically two for one in most of their restaurants.. Covers: Sofitel, Novatel, Mercure, Ibis and others I don't recall at the moment.

They have excellent buffets in the larger hotels that run approx 1,000 per head. You pay tax and Vat on the second meal. Also discount bar prices outside of happy hour pricing.

Great online booking system and hotel descriptions.

Good deal for something like 4,000 a year.

The hotel is directly behind the new Holiday Inn going up and it 'looks' like you'll be able to access the beach through their property????? There is a road there anyway.

To each their own, I suppose. I usually stay at Tropical Bert's and they charge me 700 Bht, I think. Always love it there. But when they don't have a room available, I prefer to look for a new(ish) and nice enough hotel. The odd 500 Bht difference is not that big of a deal as I only stay for a night (that's about 2 pints and a bit!). Guaranteed lovely smile from the staff, being treated well, clean room, everything works, other guests behave themselves, no hassles from anyone... not a bad deal to me.

Well, I just saw Ibis on ratestogo.com for $37 bucks a night. That's slightly more than your rate, but you have to factor in the 4,000 baht upfront fee.

I think you can do better without the ACCOR advantage card.

Maybe you can but.....The 4000 baht upfront includes a free night in ANY of the Accor group hotels in Asia. Pick a good one and it is eaten up. Also you get 2 for 1 dining as many times as you want. There a stack of Accor group hotels in Thailand, a couple of Sunday Buffet Lunches and you are extremely happy.

PS: I am NOT French and DO NOT work for Accor......

That sounds better, although by principle I am not in favor of paying for a discount. I can see how this works for some people.

^^Also use the card for services other than hotel reservations/bookings.. makes sense and is a good deal.
