Muang basically means the 'main town'. So Muang Nakhorn Rachasima will be Nakhorn Rachasima (Korat) Town rather than another area within the province.

Thanks for that.I have been in touch with the Crystal Place about 2 weeks ago.My main problem is I have a bit of a mobility problem, the main one being stairs. On their site they have a ramp and also a lift both of which are ideal in my situation. As far a the night life goes,it was just places of go and have a drink,I will be bring a friend with me.I have not been able to find on the site where you can post pictures or maybe you have to have so many posts. When that happens I will post of couple of pictures of her

Ms. B works at the Rachaphruk Grand Hotel. She says room access is good. Ramp from the driveway to the lobby. Lifts to the rooms. But, stairs to the restaurant.

I'm afraid I can't comment on access at other hotels.

Are you on wheels, crutches or what? Maybe we can explore a bit and help you out.

No I have what they call foot drop.Weakness on right side.I wear a plastic brace on my leg that fits into my shoe.If I had long pants on you would say I had a bad limp but in LOS I wear shorts most of the time .I still can get around, but slowly.Last month I was in Pattaya and I walked many times from Soi 13 to the end of Walking St.If you want to look around thanks but do not go to a lot of trouble

Give me an idea of what you want in terms of hotel and I'll try to give you some options. In other words: price, location, transportation, etc.

As BH posted, the Rachaphruk Hotel even has a beach style ramp going into thier pool! As far as lifts or ramps going into Discos not sure. I will check. But thier are alot of cool places here. Check out the website that was previously listed.

Does the Crystal Palace rent rooms on a nightly basis for that? If so, it's a deal. Right next to The Mall where you have plenty of restaurants from food court, to fast food to some nice restaurants. Easy transport from there as well: public buses, tuktuks and motorcycle taxis. There are a few places to have beers and snacks in The Mall as well.

Another place in that range which is quite new and within walking distance of the Sport and Cocktail bar is the Raya Grand Hotel (044-354-966 - Don't dial the zero if you're calling from out of Thailand.)

The Crystal Place offered my 4400 baht a month for 3 months plus electricity and water.I thought that was reasonable enough.I will just go and have a look around Korat and maybe hire a car and Kung can drive and go away for 3 days but still keep the room at the Crystal Place because it is not to expensive. Also my mate from Pattaya will come up and I will go back to Pattaya with him for a couple of nights but still keep my room at the Crystal Palace. Thanks for you help and the info which I appreciate
