is it possible for a thai to get a 10 year american visa ?

just wondering - cos i have a friend who's an american diplomat and he suggested that he could 'assist' getting a 10 year visa for a mates g/f.

jsut wondering if this is possible or totally bogus ?

Should be able to get a 10 year indefinite multi entry, means having to do a visa run every 6 months though.

Only ten year visa I know about is if you marry the lass. And even then she gets a two year green card and if all is still well then she gets a ten year.
But They bet on not many of these marriages working out. So they give you plenty of time to back out without getting yourself in to much trouble.
Were as you married a gal from here. Doesn't matter how long you were married you would be all fixed up
Don't under estimate the power of stupid people in large groups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you can get a 10 year, multi-entry visa to the US... No marriage requirements... They are becoming rare though... If you've got a diplomat pulling for you, then go for it... Slam-dunk...

Bigman is partially correct... If you marry a foreign national, they are provided with a conditional 2 year permanent resident card... After 2 years, it can be renewed for 10 years... After 3 years of marriage to a US citizen, the spouse is elligible to apply for citizenship... The only other requirement is that they spend a minimum of 6 months in-country to qualify for residency...
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute, but set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

ok ok - i'll come clean - it was a mate of mine....

his missus ducked home (to visit family) then pissed off to the states for a week (at x-b/f's expenses) to have the interview and now has a 10 year visa (apparently).

she was engaged to this xb/f so wondering if she got this visa on the false assumotion that she was still engaged to the kunt!

The wife had one. It expired. I rang American Services and asked how to get a new one. Apply, it will be granted was the reply. Seems pretty straight forward.

Marraige does help for the Thai woman though, kids help more, and alot of stamps from various countries in your passport help as well.

They basically said, we will look at her passports, if she has come and gone from America as she should have there will be no problem.

Girlfriends will get a one time tourist visa, if they are lucky.

I have a Thai Sister-in-law and a Niece that both have 10 year American Visas. Both own properities and have a good amount of money in the bank (s) Beware of offers of help if you can not get the normal legal way then most of the time you may be spinning your wheels and going NO WERE. Be careful some times good things come back to bite you in the A--
