    Bringing personal instruments Into Thailand

I have a professional trumpet and a flugelhorn I want to bring with me to Thailand. I can put the trumpet in a gig bag and carry it on, but I don't really want to check the Flugelhorn--it's hand made, not replaceable (none for sale on e-bay in the last year of this model). any suggestions.

Can you get a custom flight case manufactured where you live, nearly every guitar or musical instrument shop will have a flight case supplier.

Here is a company in the uk Custom Flight Cases

Buy a seat for your Flugelhorn.

A good, light weight, road case and a chat with your airline's local airport manager on it's value and being a family heirloom should see it safely in the stowage above your head.

Thai customs are usually inquisitive with larger items like a guitar case but once scanned and asured it 's for personal use have never caused me any problems.
