I'm arriving in BKK at midnight but won't check in to my hotel until later in the day (2 pm). after a 17 hr flight I would like to freshen up a bit before I wander about, will I have to be content with the airport restroom or can anyone suggest something better--a short time place with a shower perhaps? I'd like to keep near the lower Suk area.

golden palace hotel on suk 1 used to be about 600 a night i think, not quite only shortime
woraburi on soi 4 is about a grand i believe

Did you ask the hotel if an earlier check-in is possible? They's usually allow it if another guest isn't checking out of the room the same day.

Geeze. Pay the extra night at your hotel and tell them you are a late check in.
