    suggestions for Cebu (Mactan) hotels

Looking for clean and cheap accommodation on Lapu Lapu. Googled some resorts that seem a bit overpriced, wondering if anyone knows of any "gems" in that area. Would even consider Cebu City if the price is right and the place is well kept. Going there at the end of April.

    Thanks for any suggestions

The Days Hotel in Cebu was quite nice and only about $35 USD a night. If I went back I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Days Inn is pretty good value if you can get it for USD35 a night. If you are looking for accommodation anywhere on Mactan for less than USD35, or thereabouts, I think you will find that serious dumps abound.

Getting that rate and finding the hotel was not any big trick, I simply booked it on Agoda dotcom before I left Thailand.

Don't think I even vaguely implied that it was a big trick to get a rate of USD35? The Agoda rate is USD40 as of today e.g. for 30 Apr and their rates vary constantly. Like I said it's good value if you can get it for USD35.

Thanks all, I'll check that site and see about Days Inn.

OK, just checked that site--it is a goldmine! I like the map feature that shows where all the hotels are located respective to each other. Some great deals on there, too.

Just be aware that the daily rate Agoda shows on the website is not exactly what you will be charged. A tax/service charge is added at the end of the booking process and you need to actually start the booking process to find out how much this is. On the positive side, you accrue reward points each time you book with them.
