Fookin hell, do a search, this thread has been done several times before already, but the biggest difference I can think of is the one of then starts with a P and the other a T.

Took the wife to the flipper land

fookin hated it she did - but then again they are racist cunts Thais

for me I prefer Thailand only just.

You need a lot of time, patience and money to enjoy the Phills; If I had that when I went I probably end up prefering it to Thailand as a tourist destination

It has to be considered that a country is always far more enjoyable if you are only visiting such places. working overseas brings a whole lot of difference to your experiences. When writing such an OP you should differentiate between the two - tourism or living

One place mine refuses to go, and she has the travel bug. Not sure exactly what it is.

As the comparisons do a search

Although one thing I've noticed about visiting the PI, every time I go there at least one thing goes horribly wrong. That's after about 12 visits. . .I usually still manage to enjoy myself, but something bad always happens- centipede bites, illness, crash, etc. Not true for visits to Thailand, Indo, Malaysia.

    same, same, but different...

Some love Thailand and hate PI, and vice versa... There are far more expats in Thailand than in the Philippines, so that can be a gauge of which most prefer...

It's fine for you to address your stash with such deference, Willy, but isn't it a bit early?

As a tourist location Thailand is better. I find it more interesting, better food, and easier to get around. If you are interested in drinking and playing around with the girls, I think the Phils wins. The beer and the girls are better and both cost less.

English skills are better as well. Not sure if this is a plus or a minus.

Excatly - how many Fillipino restaurants have we seen between us all?

For a nation of over 7000 islands and pork is higher on the menu than fish is a good start for explaining how shite fillipino cuisine is

Many years ago the Easter procession in Tagbilaran scared the daylights out of my Japanese wife. Actually, she vowed never to go back after that trip, and this is a woman who traveled through places like Turkey and Egypt on her own.

Since this horse is still twitching, I'll say it again- for beaches and diving, and the possibility of encountering something like actual friendliness the PI is better. For food, cleanliness, culture, safety, service and infrastructure, Thailand. For booze and broads, better/cheaper beer in the PI, otherwise it's a tie, I guess. With a few important tweaks, Indo would beat them both hands down.

FYI - In my own experience .........

    Philippines
is more laid back, generally dirtier, better cheaper beer, nicer beaches, cheaper air travel (Manila - Cebu P1000, $20), better climate, many many non working girls available, Filipina 10X better in bed and live to please their husband to be (you), no two price system, more poverty, cheaper Hos, better educated, speak english, much much less money to support a filipina, Philippines had 50% more people, Filipinos make mistakes and can accept some criticism.

Thailand is more intense - more amazing, cheaper and more available rooms, more convenient, easier to spend a long time in Thailand, better food, many more foreigners, mostly lazy bar girls and a few lazy non working girls, cheap moto rental, safer upcountry than out in sticks in Phills, better nightlife, Thai ying cleaner and smell better, Thai girl can act sweeter, Thailand has more Hos, Thais never make a mistake.

This was also brought up on a similar thread, but not only more poverty, more really horrifying poverty- more real hunger as opposed to consumerism-inspired greed. Which both countries have- the PI has bigger malls, I think- but the money/brand worship and unabashed, crass materialism is more pronounced in Thailand (probably).

It's easier to find your self in hot water in the Philippines.
You can get locked up just for committing adultery with a Filipinos wife! How messed up is that.
I never felt that I was in any danger of personal assault in Thailand but wonder into the wrong neighbourhood in the Philippines and you are truly fucked.
Also the Filipinos hold a grudge and they take there revenge violently, the Thais on the other hand are more likely to call in the police and get all your cash.
I found mongering in Thailand better because the bars are huddled closer together. But in the Philippines It's easier to get off with a local chick for free.
It really is a toss up which is better but I still prefer Thailand for now.

Haha, nothing quite so risky in my case. Was under the influence and got busted by the cops relieving myself in what I thought was a discrete place.

More of a stitch-up really: 'Pay us $X or we'll arrest you'. To which I replied: 'Ok then let's go, I've got no cash on me'.
