007, 008, 009? What's the prefix?

I can never remember, what's the best prefix for phoning from a mobile to the UK?

Is this system still running? I did Google but just got lot's of old and conflicting threads from you know where.

i've always used 8

+44 and leave the first "0" out.

008 works well. TOT at 5 baht per minute to the US I used today so still working.
