Two years ago, large group of us (7 adults +3 kids) stayed at Elegance Suites.
Silom, Bangkok Hotel The Elegance Suites - Welcome

Quiet location but very near to BTS, major shopping, freeway.

Rooms were large, included a large sitting room, and had minikitchen.

    Spacious, quiet, convenient.

Booked through sawasdee.com. Rates were about half of the (then) website rack rate.

I stayed here once and was quite impressed considering the price was 1,600 baht a night I think. 2,800 pn on the website.

Apart-hotel, each room has full kitchen, brand new, very nice place, near Asoke station.

Around 1800-2K though. It's hard to find 1000 baht digs in BKK anymore.

ta memock, your right , only wanta pull up and rest and then get out of bk the next day, still tuning the details, so sat night on koh san road for their first taste of thailand, i thought might be a bit of fun, usually i,m by meself so i stay down nana way for a night or 2 befor moving on, so after a 9 hour flight all i,m trying to find is base to start with, we are not back packing and not really into reall flash digs [rather spend the money on beer] but i reckon around 1k baht should get something ok for the night.. but all input is welcome

Try the " NAKHORN PINK" in Soi Samsen 6 just a 10 min. walk away from khao san. They also have bigger family rooms. May be 800 Baht w. fridge ,AC, bath, very clean
