NSC chief wanted by CAPO to face sedition charge
    in Politics | March 31, 2014
The Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) has wanted newly-appointed National Security Council chief Thawil Pliensri to report to the police to acknowledge the sedition and election obstruction charges against him for his involvement with the anti-government protests.
Mr Thawil is among a total of 58 core members of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee and its allies, including Suthep Thaugsuban, wanted on the charges of sedition, obstructing the February 2 election and other charges.

CAPO has instructed the police to extend the period for the 58 suspects to report themselves to the police to acknowledge the charges against them. Failing to report within the extended period, CAPO has threatened to submit their case files to the public prosecution which will proceed with the cases in accordance with the criminal procedural code.

Of the 58 suspects, five of them have contacted CAPO offering to turn themselves in to acknowledge the charges against them. These include Mr Ong-art Klampaibul, Boonyod Sukthinthai, Mrs Natthaya Benjasiriwan, Mr Thossapol Pengsom and Charnvit Viphusiri.

Quoting police report, CAPO said that there are 191 cases of election obstruction pending against PDRC core members and their allies; 180 cases pending against election officials for deserting their duties during February 2 election and 371 cases for election violations.

Constitutional Court to decide Wednesday whether to proceed with petition against Yingluck
    April 1, 2014

The Constitutional Court will Wednesday decide whether to proceed with a petition by a group of senators against caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra related to unlawful transfer of the National Security Council chief.

Pimol Thampithakpong, the court's spokesman, said the court would hold a meeting to discuss whether to accept the petition from the group of 40 senators against Yingluck related to the transfer of Thawil Pliensri from the post of NSC secretary general.

The Supreme Administrative Court ruled that Yingluc's order to transfer Thawil was unlawful.

The senators accused Yingluck of violating Articles 180, 182 (7), 268 and 266 (2), (3) for interfering in permanent official's tranfer for vested interest.
