A 19-year-old man has been arrested for selling war weapons and ammunition on the internet.
Police raided a house near a public health unit in tambon Bang Nam Phueng in Samut Prakan's Phra Pradaeng district on Friday night, and arrested a 19-year-old man, whose identity has been withheld.
The raid was part of a campaign to curb politically-related crime following the shooting of former Pheu Thai MP for Samut Prakan Pracha Prasopdee.
Police seized an M16 rifle, a .32 pistol and a large amount of ammunition at the house.
Police said the man admitted to selling weapons on behalf of others on a website. He had been selling them on the internet for six months.
The weapons seized by police on Friday night were priced at 28,000 baht. The man said he usually charged an additional 4,000 baht for each weapon sold.
Police said initial checks found that there were no connections between the man and the shooting of Mr Pracha.
Police are investigating the source of the arms.
