Police yesterday arrested one more suspect for the brutal gang murder of a 14-year-old student, while four other suspects turned themselves in.
Triboon Srikham was abducted last Thursday, shot dead and buried by 15 members of a gang called "Dek Narok" (Hellish Boys).
At 2am yesterday, Muang Ubol Ratchathani superintendent Colonel Kasemsak Hacha-nee led a team of police to arrest a 17-year-old suspect identified as Yuth (not his real name) at his home.
Eight suspects previously arrested had implicated Yuth as one of those involved in the murder.
At 2pm, the parents of four gang members - Beer, Marc, Bomb and Bel (not their real names) - accompanied the boys to turn themselves in. The four allegedly confessed to abducting Triboon and a friend but denied killing him. Police charged all the suspects with illegal detention, premeditated murder and concealing a body with intention to avoid punishment before detaining them at Ubon Ratchathani Remand Home. Police also seized six motorcycles used in the crime.
Kasemsak said he expected parents of the remaining two suspects to turn them in soon.
Triboon's mother Jirakan Sri-kham, 38, said she was saddened by the cruelty and aggression of youths today. She believed her son was killed because he refused to join the gang.
