Very strange indeed, as he obviously doesn't know him in person, as if he did i could guarantee he wouldn't have the same opinions of him.

And that's how it starts, especially for the unsuspecting who have no idea who he is.

I'd say this is a legit story and anyone who still says it's all fabriaction has ignored the simple question - why not just ask the British consul in Phuket?

What would the consul in Phuket know about what's going on near Cambodia?

Just about to ask the same question. Think he meant Pattaya.

In my experience, why bother asking any Thailand based British diplomatic/consular staff anything about Thailand?

As however you have identified yourself as an administrator here in a private message while at the same time being the source of most of the 'scum type' posts it would be stupid for me to waste my time here any more.
Further it is quite clear that at least two Britons, if not three, making other scummy posts have associations with the 'Winchester' bar in Jomtien, another good reason for leaving.
Finally scummy posts by posters here, (already removed from ThaiVisa.com) about the conduct of the couple in question belie the quality of the posters here.
You have also stated you have some sort of grudge against me dating back 15 years.
Your private suggestion that Teakdoor is the way to the future and that I know little about the internet, falls on its first point.

    au revoir

Yes - well I suspected that within a a day or two of joining. As we all know, there's no free lunch. Thaivisa + Teakdoor = same same..but different (but not really)

Oh and yes I meant Patters consul not Phuket - apologies for the error.

I think that's not a huge concern in Thailand - the investigating police would probably wash the sheets first before investigating them, "because they look dirty"

Koh Chang has at least one wife swapping club.

So presume they were getting a bit kinky in there and it may have got a bit carried away and now sour grapes.

That's rather a big presumption just because of a swingers club. So now anyone who gets raped on the Island must have been gagging for it as they must have been members of this club?

Consider the sources - I wouldn't expect any humanity from any of them.

    Karma's usually a bitch, though.

Look at the number of posts relating to each of the piss-takers and the penny will drop. This web-board is a business - it's their business, or at it's at least in-their-best-interest-of-business to slag you off. The vast majority of these guys flood the board whenever there is a shitty story about vacation-thailand. They're bar owners and guest house owners in every shit hole from Pattaya to the northern backpacker border.

Why? Because shitty stories or negative comments about Pattaya and Phuket or backpacker shit-holes up north where cops rape or shoot tourists are bad for their businesses. Like that b+tch restaurant owner what's-her-name on ThaiVisa defending the cop who shot the Canadians, or the attacks on Drummond (maybe with some merit..) becuase it threatens to add critical mass to an already dire tourist situation.

The world is waking up to scam-land. Frightening people off is bad news for them. But hey? Want to "Donate"?
My mind is not for rent to any God or Government, There's no hope for your discontent - the changes are permanent!

It's certainly true of the chiangmai forum on Thaivisa too. A few business owners and their "roped in" friends are the worst of the Thai apologists. They are just protecting their businesses. There are never any scams. All is rosy. Please please keep coming to my business. And no criticism allowed, only praise is appropriate.

It seems to me,that if journalists did`nt write these stories,we`d never know about them. So,keep up the good work Mr Drummond

During my years investigating major(politically connected ) insurance frauds I was often having a quiet drink after work when a well dressed , good English speaking, person would plonk themselves on the next bar stool and try to start up a conversation ( in China,Nigeria, Taiwan and Malaysia).
Routine was always the same - they would time their finishing their drink to match me and then order another one and ask 'would you like another one as well ?'
It was laughable - they all seem to have read the same 'How to become a journalist' book !

Guaranteed that if you did accept , then they would try to work the conversation towards your work. If you mentioned 'insurance ' their eyes would light up and within a sentence or two they would casually mention the case or incident you were working on !!

At that I would deny all knowledge of it and ask them what it was like being a journalist!

99% correct and they would waffle on - finish their drink and leave

A junior colleague was sucked in once and a totally manipulated report appeared in the next days paper - we lost the 'rock solid' case following the report being openly discussed in the countries parliament by the perpetrators of the fraud !!!
