Thread: Robbed & Slapped Up North Too!

Us farangs are not only at risk in the cities and other popular tourist destinations from robbery and receiving a slapping. Up North in the not so well trodden tourist trails we are at risk of being a target.

Sawankhalok district, province Sukhothai : At around 1:00am, 3 young guys pulled up in a pickup next to the victim, a 23 year old Swiss national, and it was agreed that they would go and play some snooker.

A short while later, the car was stopped and the robbery and beating took place. 6,500 baht, a mobile phone and other documents where stolen. The victim was left unconscious and later taken to hospital in Si Satchanalai.

Just keep your wits about you, and remain vigilant at all times. I can't help feeling the in such hard economic times robbery is on the increase, and us light skinned farangs stand out as a soft target.

I think I have spotted the mistake.

In addition to that, you have to watch out for hotel windows falling down.
